The Muslim Forum of Utah does not represent The Muslim Community of Utah the same way that The Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake, and The Alrasool Islamic Center do not represent the whole community. To be more specific, the ISGSL constitution says that it represents Muslims who follow the 'Sunnah' which translates into Sunni Muslims. The Alrasool Islamic Center has a similar item in it's constitution that specifies representation of the 'Jaferi' school of thought, which translates into Shia Muslims. Point being is that no organization in Utah is all inclusive, however The Muslim Forum of Utah is ALL INCLUSIVE of the various Muslim Schools of thought. Sufis and Non-Sectarians are not even officially represented by either of the two major organizations in Utah. However, the function of The MFU is different than that of these organizations that are set up specifically for running the Mosques. The MFU is an independent organization of united Muslim intellectuals and professionals, which specializes in four major objectives and those have been stated before as Education, Civil Rights, Social Work and Interfaith related activities.
Z The Muslim Forum of Utah was formed in the year 2003 A.D. in order to unite Muslim Intellectuals, Professionals, and other people who can contribute to their local Muslim Community as well as the general community around them. By doing so, we can, with the help of Allah, create positive role models in our community so that our youth can look forward to something better.
